My 2005 that I just bought doesn't have Nav or anything fancy in the audio department and I would like to start considering something of a upgrade.

Can you guys help me with some recommendations from a new radio/nav (if it will fit) and speakers. These cars have a stock amp right? Can I still use that or should I upgrade that also. I would like to stay under $2000 if possible.

You can do quite a bit with 2k. An aftermarket nav will fit but requires a few tiny modifications. And yes, you can integrate this in with the stock system and be done with it if you want to. But it's best to pull out the bose junk and install better stuff. I mean if you're going that far, you might as well install a couple amps and nice door speakers and add a sub. You'll never regret doing it. A lot of guys are using pioneer D3 nav units. We have pretty much anything you'd need to get this done and come in well under your budget.

This is good to hear, I thought I would only be able to get a new radio and nav unit. What door speakers do you recommend?

You should have plenty left over--depending where you shop.

As for component speakers, that is up to you. It's really best to go listen to hear what you like. Different brands just sound different, so it's nice to sort thru them before you buy.

Some of my personal favorites are Eclipse components, and CDT Audio components. Both sets provide a deep, rich midbass tone, and a nice, smooth high end that is not harsh. Overall, this combination makes for a musical experience that is reproduced quite well in a C6 Corvette.

Adding a subwoofer will give you a little added low end to reproduce the musical end of the spectrum that the component speakers cannot reproduce.

Hope this helps!! Good luck with your stereo swap... you're going to love hearing your favorite music with a new stereo!!
