The display on the dual climate control won't light up. How do you fix it?

There is a procedure for re-soldering the display connections. Here are a few links;

Just soildered my climet control in my 2001 coup works good thanks for the info I wonder if this prob was fixed for the c6.

I want to add my thanks to Tim, Brad, and Zach for posting detailed information on the climate control display fix. The fix worked exactly as described. I was able to complete the necessary repairs within a couple hours including removal and replacement of the center console. A special thanks for the detailed pictures and "trip hazards" to avoid during the repair process.
