AC is not cold on either side, actually it was blowing out warm air?

I can hear and see when the hood is up the compressor is kicking in??

What could be wrong here?

Maybe the system needs recharging?

Usually the compressor won't engage if it needs just a recharge

Check the fuse and wiring. Is the system overheating at all?
I had a wire break in my 87 near the left fender (not a C5 but should be the same system/principle). It caused the AC compressor to kick in but not cool. Also stopped the fan from running when the AC was on.

I'm guess also that your system needs to be recharged. Every time that I have heard or experience warm air coming out, a quick recharge always seemed to fix the problem. :cheers:

That's a good question! I would think that as long as you use it at least once a month (even in winter) to keep the seals lubed it would be a recharge/repair as needed type thing...

Mine is getting a little on the not so cold side and could use a good service soon!

I had the same problem with mine. then I read an report on the Vacume lines under the battery that controls the door for the HVAC system. Its said that factory batteries leak and corode the plastic AC door line, I removed the battery and battery tray and sure enuff it was all corroded and eaten thru, plus my main wire harness was also getting eaten. I later removed the fender and cleaned up all the damage and replaced the broken vacume line. replaces damged wire loom and nutralized all the old acid. I herd this is common with about 75% of the C5 corvette.....AC blows like ice!!!!
