Any benefit to this? I spoke to a company yesterday who stated much cooler coolant temps? Its hot season coming and was looking to get some cooler temps? Any takers on this?

I installed a Dewitts with a larger oil cooler. I did so because I am road racing with a super charger which causes the engine temps to jump. Unless you are running on the track, you probably don't need.

I spoke to the Dewitts (Tom I think his name was) and he stated the same thing. He also said something like 10 degrees cooler in those applications?

Dewitts is what I just ordered and I am looking forward to seeing some benifits!

Ron Davis also makes a great product.

I have heard of this guy but can't find much info on him. Does he have a web site? Also how does he compare with Dewitts both price and quality?

Here's what Mr. Dewitt's has to say on the subject(when asked to compare his and RD's):

"I can answer that question! Neither is better...they're the same. You see, they both use two rows of one inch wide tubes, the same height fin, and furnace brazed cores without epoxy.

Ron Davis radiators tend to cater more to the hard core racers that run track and high speeds. They standardize on fin spacing of 18-20 fins per inch (fpi) when the industry standard is somewhere between 11-14 fpi. While 20 fpi works great at 100mph, it doesn't work real well at cruising speeds because of the density of the core.

The Ron Davis radiator cost a lot more than ours, they have fabricated tanks (box) and we use custom made press-formed tanks. We also offer a superior 7 plate engine oil cooler, built off-set, so it doesn't block the coolant flow. Ron Davis doesn't pay the light bill on the Forum either, we do.

So if you want to spend a little more money and exceed all federal speed laws, the RD radiator is the way to go! "

really though, does the Z really need an aftermarket radiator? I feel that this machine is at really it's peak potential, and if people thought that most will never utilize the full potential of the C6, well then how many of us Z owners will ever really push the envelope?

If the car is used as primarily a street car, the stock radiator is great. If the car is going to see signficant (RR) track time, keeping the engine cool becomes a major issue and a new radiator + new oil cooler become important upgrades.

I agree, even after a little fun in the zipping around the country side onthe winding roads I can see that my temps like to crawl up more than they normally do. And I am no where close to being in the conditions like you will find on a course!!

I know in the future there is a new Dewitts for me. Just have to wait for the summer to be over and then I'll get to it!!
