I'm looking at some new nav units and noticed some have the back up camera function "ready", so I was wondering where do C6 owners install their back up camera? Would love to see pics where you put yours.

There are license frame cameras you can get that look pretty good. Just a thin black or chrome frame around the license plate.

That is slick how the camera is mounted on the license frame.

Are those cameras plug and play? Can you just plug into your nav unit and will it work when you put car in reverse?

Yes most just plug into your aftermarket head unit and you will need to turn on the back up camera function.

The Eclipse unit works when you put the car in reverse, or you can manually go in, while in park, and activate the camera to view what is behind you.
The Eclipse camera is a plug and play unit with the Eclipse deck; no other wires, such as reverse wire, to hook up with the camera... it was already hooked up with the navigation unit.
Some cameras also allow you to just hook them straight up to a video input on your unit, and tie into the reverse wire to activate them when put in reverse, or you can hook them up to ignition power, and turn on the video source to view the rearview at any time.

I think it has a virus which should be able to fix and one of the usb ports has been pushed in but this should also be easy to fix Everything else is in good condition? I paid around 1000 for it The model is an HP DV6700 youtube com/watch?v=pqtVpplUYLQ]unlock iphone 3g

I did a couple of cams. like this in C6s. The bottom black part of the the bumper unbolts.
If you want to sell the car and keep the cam. just get a new piece and bolt it in.

What camera is this? I'm guessing you cut it with a dremel like tool and glued the camera in place?

Thanks,
Scott

This is a Pioneer cam and yes I used a dremel to cut it out. It is siliconed in place after aiming it.
