I was thinking today, you hear and see all these crazy things people do with Corvettes. This got me thinking: has anyone ever installed a diesel motor in a Corvette? If no... :smack: why not?

You might be suprised!! Some of the most successful
racing in recent history has utilized diesel power.
The Audi American Lemans Racing Series Team uses
turbo charged diesel's in their cars and have been winning
alot of races with them!!

:banghead: Are you SERIOUS??? Diesel Costs WAY more that Super out here in Cali.... and I'm sure it wouldn't get as good MPG...

Not too long ago somebody on youtube had a vette with a diesel in it. As for fuel economy I would have to say it would be better. My 75 vette gets about 20 while my 07 Chevy Duramax gets right at 30 and weighs 2 1/2 times more than my vette.

You are absolutely right brother.
Back a few years ago, Volkswagen
made a Rabbit Turbo Diesel. that
had tons of torque and it got 60 MPG.
I would say that's pretty darn good!!!

I was jumping around on youtube the other night and saw a white C5 I think that was diesel. They do get alot of torque and the gas mileage is outstanding!

I think that I have seen that one too, the only thing I could say about it besides the obvious noise was that it smoked more.

I'm very surprised to here that! I was expecting to open this thread to see some crazy c3 or something all jacked up in the air with a diesel motor out of the hood! :rofl:

Hmmmm how about a Corvette running on natural Gas!?

Natural gas? I know UPS trucks are running on natural gas and fork lifts run on it too. Damn who knows!
