I was/may plan to do this conversion. I have researched all the kits made and they all look like @##@@ to me. I have bought a set of C6 Zennon lights and now just need to get the energy/desire to tackle the change to C6 non pop up. I recently re-did my 85 to a Custom and kept the Pop Ups so don't want to cut in and disturb the paint job but probably will next year.
The kits you can buy mostly use standard Projector/for style lights and still look popped up but not as high. I hear the quality of lighting is poor.
You can pick up a used C6 set for around $ 700-800 on e-bay etc. and than it is your time if you are handy. Changing electrical is not hard. I have already changed my 85 to C5 style parking/turns etc.
My 85 Alternator puts out a lot of juice so will handle the C6 power demands.
