When I turn on headlights one will open and the other will not fully open. Then when I try again the opposite happens sometimes the other will open and one will not fully open. I opened hood and turned on headlights and they actually opened into place. Also when driving on freeway they opened alright also. I just bought corvette yesterday. I just don't want to have to open hood to turn on headlights. Maybe headlight motor is wearing out. I love the corvette! Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

This means that the gears in the headlight motors are wearing out i have the same problem you can send in your head light motors to Ecklers or Mid-ameria and have them rebuilt for a decent price or buy the gears and bushings and re-build them yourself or Look on ebay for the motors and buy a set I found mine on ebay they are NEW unused motors
yup I had to fix one of mine I found new cuss words that didn't even exist I had a piece of field drop down and jam the motor

I just rebuilt my headlight motors on Wednesday night on my 89. I purchased the gears and bushings. It turns out I only needed the bushings but I had the gears so I replaced them too. It wasn't to bad of a job at all. Someone posted a link to the directions on how to do if you do a search. The link is from corvette magizine it think. It makes it sound much harder than it really is. It says to set aside a whole day in the article but I did the first one in about 1 1/2 hours and the second took about 45 minutes. I had a friend help me. Much easier lining the headlights back up and taking them out with two people. Good luck
I did my headlight gears last year on my 89. Just got the kit (bushings) from VIP Corvette and downloaded the instructions from a corvette web site. The gears themselves were like new so I only replaced the bushings where the original compound used to be. The pictures in the instructions make it sound like a big deal to replace them, but believe me compared to other repairs this is a piece of cake!
