The rear end on my '85 is leaking and it appears the rear cover has been welded previously. My 1st question is should this be ok or the cause of the leak. When parked there is a drip about the size of a quarter. 2nd question: any ideas where i can get a replacement cover?

If you are talking about the rear end I think I've seen them on zip and ecklers as well as ebay. If it was welded I'd just replace it, they are not that expencive and when you replace it you are also replacing the seal so either way it will fix the leak. Just keep an eye on the oil level in your rear end, you don't want to let it run dry, that will cost a ton of money to fix.
