Good morning all you SmokinVette's!

Last night at Haddad Motorsports we installed the new set of Kooks 1 3/4" headers and 3" X Pipe on our Silver '05.

This is how it went:

1. Remove Negative battery connector.
2. Remove O2 sensors (4) total
4. Remove X Pipe/H Pipe
5. Remove Plug & Plug Wires
6. Remove Cat from headers
7. Remove Stock headers (6) bolts
8. Install O2 sensors in the new headers prior to installing on car (makes it easier to access)
9. Install extenders on O2 sensors (with Kooks headers they were provided)
10. Install each header by threading the (2) outer bolts first then start in the center and tighten all bolts.
11. Install new X-pipe
12. Tighten, check exhaust for alignment (is it straight down the cars center).
13. Install new plugs (we did on this install)
14. Reconnect all the Nology plug wires
15. Reconnect Negative on battery
16. Start up!

I believe I covered everything involved with this install, I'm certain if I forgot anything Mike with Haddad MotorSports will correct me.

Handy post! What is the difference between the Kooks headers and like LG or American Racing? Is there a difference? What effect does this have on the emitions? Do you have to take off headers for inspections or smog checks?

Headers make more HP & pine you back in your seat TQ! :D And sound :cool: at the same time.

It would be cool if you could upload some sound clips. :)
