Well I am a proud owner of a 2002 Z06 with less than 26,000 miles. The question that I have is that the dealer that I had purchased the car form did not have any history on it. It does have a cam in it because you can hear it. I just don’t know what kind. The Vett. has a short shifter and headers with full after market exhaust that make the Vett. sound loud and sweet. Well the question that I have is how can I find out what kind of cam the Vett. has. The dealer said also that he believes that the car put’s out 600+ HP. I would really like to find out if this is true and I do know that the only way to do it is to get a Dyno on it. If and when will shops be able to tell me more about the car, I mean like what has possibly been added to the engine. Well all thanks for reading and really look forward to learning form all of you expert Vett. owners.

considering that the car started with 405hp,and unless there is a blower sitting on top now, its doubtful its cranking out over 600hp.. the only way to know is put it on a dyno.. find a performance tuner in your area and do a couple pulls. as to determining lift and duration of cam , its not that easy.. you can measure lift of pushrod with dial indicator but duration would require a degree wheel on the cam.....your tuner can estimate, by where the power band is on the dyno..and he can tell if it has aftermarket heads, etc. .... Welcome to SV, and thanks for your service..one last thing, post in the general discussion section, you ll get more responses
