My stock Battery on my 04 Z06 (AC Delco) took a dump about 2 years ago. Replaced it with a Optima Red Top in order to protect possible batt leak to my CPU wich sits underneith the battery. I haven't been driving my car regurlarly for the past year and a half, hence every week of my ride chilling in the car hole, It won't crank over. I'm getting ready to make it my everyday driver again. Althought I'm sick of having to charge my battery way too often. Deep Cycle Batts suck when it comes to charging. However, Winter is here, and that being said, I cannot drive my Z06 all the time, weeks at a time, Rain & Windy conditions would turn my under 40,000 mile ride into crap. Just another thread on some shitty battery ongoing issue with our beloved Vettes....

I agree. A good battery tender (I prefer Battery MINDer brand by VDC Electronics) usually costs less than a new battery and it can more than double the life of a battery. Plus, you usually have a real good charge on the battery if you use it religiously.

My battery tender is securely mounted on the ceiling of my garage above the car. When I finish my ride I put the car in the garage and after I get out but before closing the car door, I pop the hood. Before I go into the house, I connect the battery tender. It just takes a few seconds and it does wonders for keeping the battery up to snuff.
