Need some help - Yesterday I was sitting at a light - started to go - Engine died, I restarted - she ran terrible - like it was missing. Turn it around and on the short drive back all %$#@ broke lose.
She started to make a grinding type of noise - one that sounds like something was spinning around or being tossed around in the engine bay. As I got closer to home she lost power all together - so I was able to coast it home. She will start right up but run poorly and that noise brrrrr.
Ran codes - P0101, P0300, P0650. Also the good old P1431. So is this the dreaded valve spring breaking? - I can't find a thread on that issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated before I start popping valve covers etc.

I would pull the valve covers and check, regardless of the codes due to the noise in the engine bay.

She a 2002 Z06

The odds are bad :(. I have a 2004 Z06 which they basically admitted to the problem by putting a different spring in.
