'84 Coupe with stock engine, '85 fuel pump, K&N air filter, rebuilt TBIs on original crossfire, colder '85 iridium plugs with MSD 8.5mm wires, MSD cap and coil.
I know that the TPS helps the ECM determine fuel quanity and spark advance, my question is for highest performance (off the line and WOT) how should I adjust the TPS.
I know to adjust it for 0.545 volts +/-0.025v at closed throttle; but I'm not looking for the factory setting. Is there a "performance" voltage reading that has been determined through research and tinkering?
I have adjusted the TPS voltage to 5 volts at WOT and the throttle response seems better as does WOT performance, and closed throttle TPS voltage is within factory spec. Now the kicker, for me at least, I adjust the TPS to 0.545 at closed throttle, then check its fluid movement to WOT. Voltage increases steadily as it should, but stops at 5.25 volts WOT.
If I am seeking performance is it best to adjust for closed throttle or WOT? And, again what is the best voltage setting for optimal kick me in the pants performance?
Thanks for your help and insight.
