Ok so I came across a screaming deal on a supercharger for a mustang so I decided to pick it up. Its a 50 state legal vortech model. My major hesitation on installing this on my car was that I KNOW my car passes smog and just as important it runs perfect like the day it was new. I worked hard to make the car perform like stock. I believe I covered all my bases on the install by adding a boost timing master which pulls timing per pound of boost and I also upgraded the ignition system for spark blowout. I replaced the 19lb injectors and mass air with 36lb's. I also put a larger fuel pump in. The idea here is to pick up another 100hp and still drive exactly as it does now without running rich or failing smog. Im wondering if anything is missing from this equation. I havent drove the car yet due to waiting on the new mass air meter to get in. The check engine light was off till I unplugged the old one and the car went to limp mode and ran very rich at idle. That tells me that everything is functioning correctly and the computer is happy so far. As fas as I am concerned, if it wont run as it did before the install it can come right back off. Hopefully that is not the case because I spent a great deal of time and extra money to do it clean and correct. I would imagine that with this done the computers stock tuning should be able to handle this.
