I have a couple of scratches that won't come out with buffing and was wondering if I took 800 or 1000 grit sand paper with some water, then something like a buffing compound would that work?

Wet sanding with something like 1200 grit and then buffing with that 3M compound should do the trick.

I would use something over 1000, keep it as fine as you can to eliminate too deep of scratches.:thumbsup:

I agree depending on how deep the scratch it.
