: POLL: Would like to your opinion
smokinvette 04-23-2007, 08:01 AM Good morning all you SmokinVette's.
After an incredible weekend where Saturday we were at the kick off of the 2007 JoyRideRally (SmokinVette was one of the sponsors) that left from Santa Monica to New Orleans, then on Sunday an incredible "Block of Orange" meet.
Any way... I have been kicking around the idea of painting the hood, roof black on our Silver '05. Just out of curiousity would like to get others opinion. Here are a couple shots that I photoshopped to see what it would look like:

Welcome! There is a long list of Mods that has been added to this '05 Vette, actually if you go to our home page, and click on the top right "our vettes" you will see first hand all the mods!
gonesailing 04-25-2007, 08:01 AM to "aggressive" for my taste. Other than that its a beautiful car that looks fast.
formuladan 04-25-2007, 12:20 PM good stuff like it and then the bag of chips!
flynbya2 04-26-2007, 09:01 PM Hi,new member here:D
Met you on the scmr and last weekend at the block
I like what you want to do,I think it looks good and if you don't mind some constructive feedback........
I would suggest you stay within the black silver scheme you propose, but rather than keeping it just the hood and top, and braking the color at the hood line, you might consider spreading the line down toward the front end and wider over the fenders, then all the way back.
I have seen this before and it is sick, and would look SMOKIN'HOT on your vette!!
I know it is hard to visualise..if I could just find that pic....I'll work on it
RedHot81 04-26-2007, 09:43 PM I don't really like that look. It kinda looks like when you reck part of a car and replace with a part of an other car with a different color. You would have to paint the whole top half of the car black & maybe divide it with a pinstrip. I think that would look so much better than just the hood. :)

I agree, and have spent the last hour looking for what ai was talking about, but with little success.
I did find a c-5 2 tone pic,but it really doesn't quite display my thought, but here it is anyway.
This one should NOT go all the way down in front, the break line should be mid bumper,if I find the other one,I will post it
No worky....
smokinvette 04-26-2007, 10:25 PM This is just an extention on photoshop I did earlier this week... I didn't get the line straight on the sides...a few suggested going further down on the front... appreciate the feed back!

It does look much better going down the front bumper with the black, just doing the hood makes the car look like something was missing? There is a white C6 that I saw that did this, looks mean as h#ll!
1989vette 04-27-2007, 08:02 AM With the stickers on it looks like a race car with the black, I would be curious to see with out all the decals on. How do you drive that? It is sooo low to the ground?

May I suggest rather than bringing it down the front, bring the cutoff line to just above the line in front bumper, then around the headlights and straight back with a small line of black below the windows, then either fade to the hatchback,or continue straight back and down the rear,
This is what I saw that looked so nice on 1 c-5
Maybe you could try that since you can photchop
