1986 C4 - I think its coming from around the oil pan? How much of a pain is it to replace?

Texas, I'm no expert but i've researched C4 oil leaks since i had one of my own. Before diving into the oil pan, take a look around. the C4s commonly have a slight leak due to the Full Synthetic Mobile 1 oil that is used and is so slippery that it'll eventually find a place to drip a little. Some common places that oil leaks can occur are in the front of the engine around the timing cover. My 1992 is currently at 1 leak (unknown where) and -1 due to the timing cover being replaced as well as the water pump seal to make sure no fluids got on the ever so pesky Opti-spark in my year. If it's not leaking over 1 qt per oil change, i wouldn't bother. Disclaimer, I am no expert and if anyone responds after me, go with their reccomendations over mine :iamwithstupid:

I just read your question about your oil leak. :nopity: I just finished locating and fixing a oil leak on my 95. Mine looked like it was coming from the front of the oil pan, but in fact it was coming from the seal behind the Opti-Spark and the water pump seal, both in the timing chain cover. It is a job to change both of these while the engine is in the car, but it can be done. If you have a service manuel that will help you, if you don't and would like some more info give me a shout.
