I am getting ready to put the car away for the winter. I am obviously going to change the oil prior to storage, is it worth changing the clutch and brake fluid as well? the car is a 02 z with 14,000 miles I bought it earlier this year with 8400. I checked the clutch fluid and it looks pretty dark. I have never put the car on the track or autox. What are you guys thoughts?

Get a ctek battery tender. Trust me or your battery will go south quickly.

If the clutch fluid is dark the best way is to remove the fluid from the resovoir with a fluid extraction device such as a turkey baster and add new fluid. Pump 20 times and repeat step 1.
Do this until it stays clear. Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to bleed the system like other cars.

It's always good to bleed the brake system. Speed bleeders will make the job painless. I do this every year.

Good advice. I have another a question for you. Would you ever take a convertable to a regular car wash before storing for the winter. Thanks.

No. Wash the car by hand using quality wash mits, soap and utilizing two buckets. Dry the car with a high grade waffle weave drying towel or leaf blower.

Do a search there tons of info on this topic.

Take care :seeya:

I live in the cold Northeast and I always change the oil and connect a Battery Tender. I also fill the tank witha jug of fuel stabilizer and put about 40 lbs in the tires to limit flat spotting. It also doesn't hurt to put some kind of desiccant in the interior. Then I just wait, and wait, and wait, and............

Great advise.

Also, mice love to make nests in cars and chew up stuff. It would also be a good time to set traps.

Weather stripping maintenance should also be added.
