I’m going to do the DIY heat and sound reduction Mod this weekend using Frost King. Has anyone done this and/or would you like a full write up with Pics posted??

I’m going to take the time to finally get some good pics of my car, I believe I owe someone some shots of my vent screens…

Reduces the amount of heat and noise in the cabin... I hope!

Hey Tstar, don't forget to do the shifter boot and around the shifter hole. I'll post some pic's this weekend from the side screens and the callaway honker install. Good luck!

Well it was a long day and a hot one! But I got the whole interior layered. It took pretty much all day and I had one heck of a time with the Rear speaker trim pieces… the hydraulic struts for the hatch were fun fun fun…. NOT.

Anyway… I ended up using 5 rolls of the Frost King Duct Insulation and some left over laminate floor underlayment I had laying around. The difference in sound is VERY noticeable!!!! I think this is the first time I’ve heard my keys clinking against the dash!!! LOL

Here’s a few pics…

I’m still getting some tire noise (greatly diminished now though) but I haven’t done the outside treatment yet. I have to get the car up and rear tires/inner fender well trim removed and line all that and then stuff insulation in there….

How much weight does that add? Cost? And how long to install?

Each roll cost $14.95 and it took all damn day!

I'm not sure on the weight, I put 4.5 rolls in and used some super dense laminate floor underlayment under the seats and on the bulkhead behind the seats.... I say 45 to 50 pounds Max.

LOL Yeah but it's done now, inside anyway. Hey how did your mods go this weekend? I'm anxious to hear about the Honker, it's the best one out there IMO and I'm jealous!

Tim, after seeing this project i'm just doing my bulkheads behind the seats to cut down the fuel pum noise. Man your ambitious!!

Nope, but I'll wager there are a lot of fuel pimps out there...

It wouldn't hurt to line your tunnel too, that really cuts down or eliminates cabin heat and also cooking your right leg ( and Passenger's left leg too!).

As Silver Bullet mentioned previously getting the stuff around and into the shifter really quiets it down as well, unless you have an auto that is... :D

Good luck and take care! Fellow Skiier I see! Cool, Do you get to Holiday Valley much?

Tim, not sure where that is. I mostly ski upstate NY, Gore, and Whitface, (1980) Olympics Mountain. Wasn't the best ski weather here this year, but looking forward to next season.
