: stalling and no restart problems on my 93

My 93 Ruby coupe is stalling in traffic and won't restart. Then after getting towed home or to a shop, she'll fire right up. I've replaced the coil and the opti-spark assembly and it'll still get me half way across town and stall at a traffic light. I'm suspecting fuel pressure drop but haven't been able to get the car to stall without getting stuck somewhere. It has always started after getting towed home or my favorite shop. Thus, my mechanic can't find the problem. No computor codes are being set.

I had very similiar problem a couple of years ago, I swapped out the fuel pump, filter and the problem was gone. It took me 4 times of being towed home before finally getting this done!

Curious on what was the cause of this? Did you figure it out?

I haven't changed out the fuel pump, but I guess I've tried everything else. I'm going to order a fuel pump now. I'll let you know how that works. I was suspicious of that thing anyway.

Fuel pump no code set. Check voltage to pump @ fill cap. Listen with stethoscope @ fill cap.

Sorry about being so long in answering about the problem. It has been cured with the replacement of the ignition module. It's located in the area of the opti-spark. The opti-spark is now an MSD unit, but the original opti-spark was still good.
