My neighbor always jokes and says I'm the only guy he knows that looks like I enjoy detailing my car. I usually give a polite laugh and brush it off.

Wondering, how many Corvette owners like detailing your Vettes?

I enjoy it sometimes but have to say living out in the country it gets old after a while. Seems like every time we want to take it to town it needs cleaned. Have to get home early tonite and get tar off of it. Damn construction.:banghead:

I always enjoy detailing. It gives me a feeling of accomplishment to see it all shiny and like new. Plus better than sitting in front of the TV.

I really enjoy detailing my cars. It's a very nice change pase from the type of work I do. Besides that I'm a car nut and like my cars to look their best.

Sometimes I enjoy it. Sometimes I just want the car clean and it's more of a chore than fun.

I just spent the whole weekend cleaning up the 85 I just bought! I don't think it was ever cleaned on the inside and not sure if it was ever waxed:banghead: I went through 2 bonnets on my orbital buffer. It did not even shine before I started.

Detailing on Saturday morning is rewarding because then you can get out and enjoy a nice shinny Vette for the weekend!

I love detailing mine. Taking something that is 18 years old and beaten up, and from 20 or 30 feet making it look like a show car. I live in Utah, and most of my neighbors just do not understand here. When I lived in Indiana, it was a regular thing every weekend, and sometimes it would just turn into a block party by the end of the day.

Detailing is half the fun of owning something like these cars, only in case of emergency will I let a car wash place touch this paint... have you ever seen or noticed how they toss their rags all around some even hitting the ground?? I keep thinking they are picking up rags that may have a chunk of dirt in it! :willy_nilly:

I can't say I look forward to
doing any detailing, but I don't
have to do it that often. My
Vette is always covered and
it's more of a garage ornament
than transportation since I only
average about 3000 miles a year.

I actually don't mind doing a detail here and there! Usually for a meet or a show, but I do agree that sometimes I just want someone else to do it for me! This way I can drive it around and tell people that I did the cleaning!

I like detailing and shinning my vehicles, it also gives me a sense of pride or accomplishment when I am out in it and it shows with the work that is done. I have actually had more then a couple people this year alone say to me..."Is that a 2007 Vette", and I just look at them and chuckle and say "no, it's a 2002" and I seem to be able to tell that they think something like OMG it looks brand new. (obviously they are not Corvette people since it is apparent that it is a C5 and not a C6...lol)

I could spend all day cleaning my cars. Spending a Saturday morning washing, waxing, polishing the wheels, cleaning the interior, and detailing the tires is my favorite way to relax. The only thing more fun than detailing my cars is SEX:thumbsup:

I'm retired. So it's the best way to pass a day. Each day I detail a different part of the car.

The only part I don't like to detail are the wheels! Always a pain getting in and out of the spokes and such.

I detail my 2002 after each weekend of use with Eagle 1 Wipe & Shine. I consider it part of normal maintainance. It is black, has 30,000 miles, and has never been washed.

I broke down and bought one of those Meguiars Power Balls. The little one. Works pretty well for polishing. For cleaning, my wife took a wooden dowel and attached a microfiber cloth to it. Works perfect. Now if only Adam's would take something like that and improve on it ......................................
We really need something that will clean inside these deep wheels and fit around the calipers with a soft sturdy cloth (chamois maybe?) and a LONG THIN handle. All the brushes out there are too fat.

HEY JASON AND ADAM......................ARE YOU LISTENING? :)

:iagree: Power ball is the best tool for cleaning/polishing the exhaust and wheels. I have 2 of them one for the exhaust (which is so dirty) and the other one for doing the wheels.

Never really seen a "dirty" Corvette on the road! Especially in sunny Southern California ~ :patriot:

I love too detail my Vette. A Corvette never looks as good as after it is first washed. Everybody who knows me thinks all three of my cars never get dirty.
