When I purchased my c5 it had the Goodyear run flats on the rear and Falken non run flats on the front. If I try to air the Falkens up to recommended pressure the sensors go crazy. Is there any way to reset the sensors to make them work with higher pressures?

just how HIGH are you filling the tires to ?:kngt:

I'm guessing you are filling them to max pressure not the correct pressure. :eek2:

if the sensors go bad at 30 psi , replace them

That's what mine were doing and I had to fork out the $$ for some new sensors.

I have the fronts at 30 lbs and the rears are at 28 lbs to prevent them from building pressure past the sensor limits. Hoping that the tires are not going to wear incorrectly since the pressures are so low.

Are you suggesting 30psi will cause the sensors harm ?

:wtf:

no , at that pressure they should work just fine , not go crazy as the OP stated

Okay. I know mine are shot right now anyway but I didn't want to install new ones and have a problem.

In autocross they talk about pressures in the 40 range. I'm running at 30 and do not have ANY sidewall scuffing (marked with shoe polish).
Guys with imports and super low profiles are running 40+. Yikes....

When I had the pressure at 35 PSI and the tires got warm the pressure increased and set the sensors off. I assumed that anything over 35 psi would trigger the warning but haven't been able to verify that. Just curious as to what pressures set the sensors off and if the pressure in the sensor can be set to different levels. The non run flat tires on the front have a maximum inflation of 51lbs and I know that would be way too much for any kind of decent handling.

I just bought some new/used TPS off ebay for $75!!! Not a bad price, gonna put them in and hopefully they will work fine.
