Idiot couldn't write me up for speeding...so I said to him "Do you have any friends with corvettes?"

  Well, I do. And some of them are police officers :p

There will NOT be a front plate on my car. EVER.

Got pulled over just the other day for no plate. The officer was really cool and didn't write me a ticket but said that they are getting alot of grants to really start cracking down on the illegal street racing so I can see why he pulled me over. All's well that ends well!

I've been stopped for no front plate but never ticketed.

I still have mine its just stuck into the lower left corner of my windsheild covering my V.I.N. number, I know not many people would steal my truck but it gives me a little peice of mind know they can't send my V.I.N. number in and get duplicate keys from a dealer and take my $1900 stereo or potentially my whole truck.

We're supposed to have 'em in California but it seems like about half the vehicles here don't have them. Lots of pretty high end cars running around Orange County without mounts, frames or anything on the front end. They will be cracking down as more and more of those damn dreaded law enforcement cameras go up for red lights and speeding. I think there's also a new that's supposed to take effect in July that prohibits covering the license plate with any protective plastic or film, since it might impact the ability of the cameras to take a clear picture. Sucks.

I parked on the street...went to work...came back and there was a ticket for no front license plate on my car.

It wasn't a parking meter attendant ticket, it was from a police officer. They must have pulled over to check out my car and decided to give me a ticket. And no...I wasn't illegally parked either.

This has happened to me twice in Sacramento. Second time the ticket cost me $10, first time was free. :banghead:

Friend of mine got pulled over this weekend for speeding - doing 79mph in a 55. He had to get his wallet out of the trunk. In the trunk (07 Z06) is an opened bottle of rum. "Well where was I sposed to put it?"

Cop wrote him up for..... guess...

No front license plate. They do that when they are either being a) A-holes or b) nice. go figure.

Me - I woulda been in jail for sure. Helps to be a retired cop. :driving:

Damn I would have been pissed off also. Some cops I find to be pretty cool and others just let the position go to their heads and forget where the line is. If your speeding or doing something considered reckless driving, yes you should get some sort of ticket, but a front plate? Thats just a way for the departments to get paid or rookies at work. :patriot:

Luckily I live in a state that doesn't require front plates. I think front plates look ridiculous:ack2: on sports cars IMO.
