Wondering if I will be rolling the dice if I install a Maggie on my 2003 C5 that has already 84,000 miles on it? Are these better to install on a fresh motor. I'm just concerned about putting this thing on and frying the motor?

Ernie,
Ofcourse putting the Maggie on a fresh motor is better, that is a given, however maybe not the most practical for most people. You can put it on your engine that you have now, I would just maybe get new heads or have your stock ones gone over and put upgraded components in them. After all that, just run the SC at a conservative boost and you should be just fine!

:iagree: The worst problem will be that your engine has more blow-by than a new engine. And as Greg said, keep the boost reasonable for the engines age.

I don't see any problem with it, I mean obviously you will be shortening your engines life but it really is going to depend on how much boost and how hard you end up driving it.

:iagree: Your driving habits will dictate your engines longevity.

Ok sounds good, but how many pounds of boost should I run then?

thanks again

I think I saw 5-6lbs and you will be good.

Yeah, if you keep it to the standard Magnuson spec you will be fine and run a long time.
