Daily driver no track time and surprisenly I have managed to keep out of street racing. I would like to get something a little better than what was on it (Original). I have a 2000 C5 Coupe.

Gm makes a real nice set of drilled and slotted rotors. add some ceramic pads and you will have a nice setup for a very reasonable price.

:iagree: If you are just a regular driver with an occasional burst of speed then OE is the way to go and they do make some really nice upgraded sets also.

Baer's are a nice option and are priced pretty well also. I've seen some brake specials from rotorsonline also.

Hey there,

You MIGHT want to consider these - http://www.smokinvette.com/corvetteforum/showthread.php?t=4626

Another option to consider would be these - http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?id=BPSPTROTR01&c=BR&year=2000&make=CHEVROLET&model=CORVETTE

Please dont hesitate to call (866-278-8287 x134) or e-mail (PageN@Stillen.com) if I can be of any help.

Thanks

I would recommend Hawk HPS or their Ceramic Performance. I would also recommend my house rotors to keep costs down.

Are you talking about rotors or pads?

A "little better" for a daily driver? You might want to look at the ATE Premiums Rotors at Tire Rack. The hub won't rust and the orbital slotting doesn't cause cracks. I use them on the track and have not had any abnormal problems. They eventually still crack on the track, but not anything caused by the orbital slots. They work every bit as well and last as long as the NAPAs, maybe a touch better.

Both. the Hawk HPS brake pads and my house brake discs.

Thanks for the tip, are we on the same page? $38 is all I'm looking at? Is this the rotor you where refering to: http://www.tirerack.com/images/brakes/search/medium/ate_premiumOne_rotor.jpg

That's the rotor I'm using. I tried them looking for a "NAPA cheap" rotor for track use and found them to work every bit as well, not better, but as well. A friend of mine at the track has had them on his Toyota DD for over a year and they haven't rusted. Track rotors crack before the rust can even find them.
