I am having issues with my 85 Vette's alarm system. I have a Clifford Alarm System in the car that works when it wants to. I've been told "ALL" Vettes from 1985 on have a factory installed VATS system. As my key does NOT have the resistor chip, I'm wondering if the VATS was removed and replaced with the Clifford System. Or worse, they tried to marry the two systems. Sometimes the car will start and sometimes it won't. I found the in-line fuse for the Clifford System and removed it. The Clifford System Indicator Light still comes on. (Sometimes)! I started with the easy stuff, but it appears I need to get into this further. Does anyone know where the VATS Decoder Module is located on an 85 Vette? I'm thinking I should start out with a beer first!!
Thanks,
Ron

Thanks for the guidance, and the websites. Would you know where the module is actually located? Just trying to save some time is all.
Thanks again!
