If your car is and 84 use a 84 fuel filter, The fuel filter has nothing to do with fuel pressure unless its stopped up. The fuel pump does not determine fuel pressure on a corvette. They use a fuel pressure regulator. As the fuel leaves the injector rail on the 85 it slows the fuel returning to the tank to bring up pressure. Your 84 corvettes has two regulator, one in each throttle body. If your losing fuel pressure check the pressure springs in the throttle bodies i have seen them rust away and this can cause your low pressure. If you have one bad pressure spring on a 84 you will have all kinds of pressure problems. And it's hard to check pressure on a 84.

How are you using an 84 fuel filter? Didn't you have to change the fuel lines from rubber to metal lines? You would have to use an 85 filter and new lines with that much pressure?

The rubber fuel lines on a 84 corvette will probably hold close to 100 PSI . If you look were the fuel leaves the fuel tank on all C4 Corvettes there is a rubber fuel line. As long as it is clamped correct there will be no problems.

There is a ton of 84 vette owners on here! Do you guys frequent the other corvette sites or just stick to this one? Or all of you just banned from the big forums?
