I want a corvette bad. I am a college student who makes about 700 a month. I have minor expenses. If I put the loan and insurance in my dads name it will be around 70.00 a month on a 97. I have 5,000 saved for a down payment. The 1997 attracted me because of the price. I looked at 1999's in person. What is the difference if any between a 97-2003 besides roof options?
I currently drive a 1994 mustang gt vert. I drive about 25 miles at a time. My house is 9 miles from my job and my job and house are around 25 from my school. The mustang has 110k miles on it so I am looking for something else with less.
I am wondering up keep wise what am I looking at compared to my mustang? I'm talking oil changes, belts, tires, breaks, inspections, LABOR, that type of stuff? What kind of average upkeep occurs between 55 and 100k miles? What type of miles should I look for? On average what kind of mileage can I get before major repairs can be done?
My dad had a Cadillac seville and had tons of labor charges. He could only take it to a Cadillac dealer and they replaced a lot and everything was computer related. He finally sold in due to the fact every repair bill was in excess of 1,000.00. I don't want this type of issue. Im hoping a corvette is close to my mustang repair price wise.
I want one so bad its not even funny. Sure my mustang is cool it has cobra r rims, super stereo, full exhaust but its still not a vett.
Thanks for any help in advance :-)
