I am having issues with my 85 vette alarm system. I have a "Clifford" Alarm System in the car that works when it wants to. I've been told that "ALL" Corvettes came with the "VATS" from 1985 on. As my key does NOT have the resistor chip, I'm wondering if the car did in fact come with the "VATS"? If it did, and someone tried to bypass the "VATS" with the Clifford System, I can only assume the two systems are fighting. And at times the car won't start. I found the Clifford Module and removed the in-line fuse, but still get the indicator light on the dash on occasion. I'm attempting to locate the "VATS Decoder Module, but I don't know where it is.

should be a black plastic relay oem#1616422. The alarm probably has this bypassed or is interrupting relay Sequence (my guess).
