I somehow how broke off the driver side plastic piece that holds the mats in place. I have the part to replace the broken piece but don't want to take off the sill plate. Anyone know the easiest way to replace those?

I think I know what you are talking about, if so mine got broken by detailers?? My guess is they jammed their vacuum deal into it? Actually I have no idea how it broke myself, really just guessing. Where did you get the replacement clip? Did you have to buy new mats?

I thought they just slid into the slot in the carpet????

I think they do but I'm wondering the best way to get the old one out without tearing the carpet? I was thinking of cutting the old piece but was looking for someone that may have had the same problem.

All it took was a flat head scrwew driver and being very gentle -- used the screw driver and just pryed gently to release clip -- took all of 2 minutes. New part took 30 seconds to install.
