So I go to Lowes yesterday morning to buy a $30 bag of fertilizer. I just happen to walk by the flooring section and see black and white checkerboard vinyl tiles. After seeing all your awesome garage pics, I couldn't resist. I had to make a welcome home for the 02 Z06 Im awaiting delivery on!

I have always wanted a checkerboard garage floor. I had been watching forum and studying floor mats, tiles, etc. But I was not planning on spending all day yesterday doing this project, but I LOVE IT

FYI: 18" tiles, $1.74 each (but w/ my commercial credit account, I got 10% off) Self adhesive back. Very easy to apply. Just time consuming. So for my approx. 20 x 10 area, it cost about $200.

My neighbor did something similiar last year, looks great! His garage always look like a hospital room, no dust no where to be seen!

It was actually quite easy as they have a self adhesive backing. Like any other flooring, the part that takes the longest is the edge. You have to cut all the tiles to fit.
It took probably 6 hours for my 21 x 12 area.

I want this! Problem is that my wife has a list of items around the house that need to be done and if I did this there would be H*ll to pay! :eek: Looks very :cool:
