What do you think of the Comp Cam XFI™ XE-R, XER273HR (224/230 .581/.588 114)?
I was thinking of some Patriot heads too. I don't have headers right now just a cat back. I will get some supporting mods but just wanted to see what your thoughts were on the cam itself for now.

Comp cam to my understanding is a good cam to get, not to sure about that particular cam you are talking about though.

Interesting you should mention that! Yesterday I watched a dyno session where an 03 Coupe with that cam, Trick Flow heads, Fast manifold, and long tubes put down 430 RWHP. I talked to the owner today and he couldn't be happier with it's performance and drivability.

Now, that would probably be a stretch for a Vette to get that with the same mods right?

????? The 03 coupe was an LS1 Vette.

I have a Comp cam (273/277 220/224) which is a "mild race" cam. I love it. Good sound, no problems at idle, and really helped the mid-range ponies!

England Green knows thier stuff and has thier own cams from a similar one to mind to INSANE!

In my opinion the heads are great power adders as well and both head and cams would need a good street tune afterwards.

If you ever intend to add a blower I would forego the heads and use that money for the blower install.

My 2 cents.:cowboy:

Cam
Z06 Intake
Headers
Vararam
Ported T/B
X-pipe
Hi-flo cats

Just a fyi, but my LS-1 in a 99 Coupe is currently producing 435 hp/415 ft/lbs tq. @ the crank. The tune was fairly easy and for a 11 yr. old motor it is now equivalent to a stock 2011 LS motor in output.

I'll add the blower next and that will put me right around 500 to rears which is my goal.:burnout:
