: Corvette resale value?
ManBearPig 08-26-2010, 03:00 PM At what point will these cars stop depreciating and start appreciating in value? I'm sure our C5's have a long way to go, but kind of curious at what age assuming the car is in excellent shape does the whole value dropping thing go on a rebound?
RIGE-RNR 08-26-2010, 05:19 PM according to Corvette magizine they all ready hit bottom and are going back up slow:thumbsup3:
Slicktop 08-26-2010, 05:30 PM That is baloney, there are to many C5s available and only a limited number of people interested in them.........and there is the economy!
Late model C4s are still dropping in value and the earlier ones are just bouncing along the price bottom.....
Very early C3s are appreciating but latter model C3s are still dead in the water...
C2s are where the appreciation action is.......but they are over 40 years old.

Hey Slicktop just a quote from a mag, on ebay c5 are going up
Slicktop 08-26-2010, 08:27 PM On EBay you check prices in the completed listings section, and you will see that not many sell. Green prices are the ones that actually sold. If you just look at the open auction section you do not really see what is going on............

C6 values should drop sharply when the next generation C7 comes out...............
David Reeves 08-27-2010, 10:42 AM I have found that if you buy at a good price and take care of it you will not lose money. You will have maintenance and insurance costs no matter what you drive. I have had three vettes and have never lost money. The keys are to not buy too high and maintain the car.

I agree with you 100% But the c2 big blocks is where the big money is at. But now or today that there is 3 times are more big block c2 on the maket than the factory made just need to watch what a person buys. That goes for any of these cars.:rockon6rk::rockon6rk::rockon6rk:
greg1ontheedge 08-27-2010, 01:50 PM I think it depends where you live too. Here in the Raleigh NC area I'd say values of C5s are holdin pretty well, if you consider $18k as good. There are several at dealers with 100K+ miles for less ($15k) but if you're down around 50k miles and great condition, $18k. Just what I've seen of course...
vettex2 08-27-2010, 08:13 PM if you are worried about resale , you shouldn't buy one
C5's are cheap and I'm glad
They are almost disposable
aerodiver-65 08-28-2010, 02:12 AM I wish the resale value was higher , that is why I am holding onto mine for a little bit longer, then I'll bump up to a C6.!!
USNChief 08-28-2010, 04:32 AM It's just a matter of supply and demand. It is also the matter if it is a special addition or anniversary car. There are still plenty of C5's out there. I have a hard time believing that the C5's have hit rock bottom.
The C1's and C2's seem to definatley be on the rise. The C3's appear to holding on to a pretty good value. I believe it will still be some time before mine will increase with value and mine is 30 years old.
This is all a matter of opinion.
