What is the proper steps in putting a new thermostat in my 95?
Do I use any old parts or get all new stuff, I am pretty new at this DIY stuff.
Also is getting the thermostat at Pepboys or Autozone alright?

It is very easy, just be sure you get the LT1 t/stat. With the reverse flow cooling not any old SBC t/stat will work. Be sure you don't let AF run down onto the optispark and be gently with the t/stat housing bolts. Lastly be sure to use the bleeder screw and follow the instructions to bleed air out of the engine.

From your picture it looks like you need to do the headlight bushings (easy and cheap to do).

IIRC correctly you'll have to remove some coolant, that is if your planning on not changing it.

Do you have the FSM?

If you need any help I can scan the info for ya.

drilled 2 1/16 holes in the flange of my stat, many people do this just in case it does not open one day you still get some flow

The two 1/16" holes also allow coolant to enter the engine block quicker when you fill up the radiator.
