I just bought a '04 LS1 Corvette last week. I picked up a Vararam and was told to get a good set of headers and exhaust to compliment the Vararam.

So what is a good exhaust and headers for this car?

Welcome aboard! I have purchased a good handful of items from Zip, so you can't go wrong with them!! We are running Kook's on both of our Vettes and we love them! Once again, good having you here!

Did you install the headers yourself?

I went a different route and installed myself. You can do it! Here's a great how to site for installing Headers.

Installing them yourself is not difficult at all! It's not like your working on an LT1 where 3/4 of the motor is jammed under the firewall!! With the Vettes it is pretty much straight forward! Just a little trick for you that most these installers already know about, when you go to put the new headers on, notch out a groove on the underside of the gaskets at each end of the gaskets. This way when you get the header in place you can put in both the end screws about half way so that the header stays put and then you can put the gasket on without having to hold up the header!!

I agree in that it is a pretty straight forward job to install headers, one last thing, when you go to tighten all the header bolts work your way from the center out!
