What temp should my cooling fans come on? I have a 1998 C5, I ask because my car seems to me running warm and I don't hear the fans kick on till its over 200?

The one fan should kick on around 226 and secondary fan should kick on around 234. This is with the A/C off.

The LS1 likes running warmer then we're used to seeing in traditional Chevy SBs... The engineers have stated the LSx engine has a "sweet spot" of 180-200* coolant temps.

I'm not sure what you mean by "running warm" though.

Have you checked your Radiator shroud for foriegn debris? Mine was loaded with stuff, cleaned it and put on a screen.

Good idea with cleaning the radiator cavity,The vette is like a vacuum down there.Since your car is 9 years old its possible it could use a cleaning

After reading this post yesterday, out of curiousity I cleaned the front on mine and found all sorts of trash stuck there! I took a air hose to shot if off. Good tip.

007 You might want to invest in a radiator shroud screen someday. I guess there have been a few owners who have actually sucked up plastic shopping bags and overheated...
