: Ready for A&A ProCharger or EForce Roots, which?

I will do A&A ProCharger or Edelbrock EForce (when they catch up on back orders) for my stock 2005 with 13k miles and 6 speed. Not sure which one to do. Assume I should have air/fuel guage with either for safety. I plan on no other upgrades (headers, stickier tires, new valve springs, etc.). I baby the car but "go fast" in short occaisional bursts. How much power with either one did any others get? Pitfalls? Warnings? Thamks!!

I'm thinking of the same upgrade and I was leaning toward the pro but now think the edelbrock is a better option. Like the style a bit more and the install seems even cleaner. Also I don't think the pro comes with a tuning device. but I'm also not an expert and would like more advise.

You can get over 500 rwhp with any kit on a stock car.

Pitfalls:
A little more engine heat, but not any thing to worry about in NH
Occasionally blowers has been known to kill the stock cats
Stock cars are inadequate at low speeds to put the extra power to the ground.
With the extra power, you'll baby the car less. :D

The E-Force uses the same rotor style as the ZR1 and the Magnuson (since Eaton supplies all of them). The main difference of all is packaging. E-Force & ZR1 will fit under the stock hood whereas the Maggie sits a bit higher & requires a different hood. All of the Roots style superchargers will create a lot of torque which you may or may not be able to hook up even with R-compound tires.

As to the A&A/Procharger/ECS centrifugals they all make lots of top end power and are pretty complete kits with options.

So it comes down to Torque or Horsepower. Which do you want more?

Also keep in mind that with a roots style blower a couple of spirited pulls back to back and the blower is heat soaked, as to with a centrifical blower(Vortech,Paxton or Procharger) You have a nice size intercooler in the front of the car to keep intake temps under control while doing multiple spirited back to back pulls.

We are a dealer for any of your options on blowers, and can install and tune your setup as well, so feel free to call us and we can talk about your goals with your vette.

I have had two Corvettes ('97&'05) with A&A superchargers.
The '97 A4 had LT headers, Hiflo cats, ZO6 cat back exh.,ported intake and TB,'04 ZO6 cam, patriot milled heads to 62cc, 3.42 rearend and 100% methanol. With the A&A SC 8lbs boost it had 554RWHP and 551RWTQ. Ran the 1/4 11.3 @ 129 MPH.

On my '05 Z51 3.15 rearend I only have the A&A SC (9.4 boost) and 50/50 methanol, no cam, no headers.
561 RWHP/497RWTQ. No track time yet.
Need better brand of tires to do straight line..

Thanks for response. Local shop would have to wait for reasonably priced E-Force Roots, can do A&A ProCharger NOW. Some people are saying centrifugal has less heat soak than roots. My shop says E-Force makes same power as centrifugal with 2 psi less boost, thus more "safe" for stock motor, suggest I wait for E-Force but will do A&A if I want. Winter is coming, damn it. My car is sunday driver, I punch it on occaision, not alot or drag strip. Thanks for any further advice you may have!

Thanks for your response! My local shop can't yet get E-Force @ 30% under list (~$5,300) from their suppliers, only ~$6,900 list from Summit. They can do A&A ProCharger well within my $7,000 budget NOW, they suggest I wait for the E-Force due to 2 psi less boost than A&A but with approx. same power. I am hearing from some on this website that centrifugal gets less heat soak, I don't know. They also like belt system better on E-Force than A&A but say A&A belt/tensioner better than it formerly was. I don't really want to wait much longer-winter comes early in NewHampshire. What would you do?

Thanks for info! I am in NewHampshire so coming to your shop would be difficult. If you care to advise further: Local shop says E-Force makes same power as A&A ProCharger with ~2 psi less and they like the belt system better but say the A&A belt/tensioner is ok-suggest I wait for them to get E-Force below list (possible long wait). My shop can't get the E-Force for less than list currently, major $ difference. They can do A&A now, they do many of them. I am 57 yr old engineer who does not race or abuse my 2005 w/13k miles on it-I do want much more power that is great in very other department. A&A now or E-Force later? Thanks for your advice!

Comes down to torque or HP. Both are up to you. If you can wait the E-force is the new kid on the block built by one of the oldest in the aftermarket. If you want more than 600 RWHP on a basically stock engine you're looking at a centrifugal supercharger system.

If you want massive torque, you're looking at the Eaton blowers. Magnuson, E-force, ZR1.
