: Positive battery terminal smoking?

Car was having hard time starting, with hood up tried turning it over and noticed that the positive battery terminal was smoking? Battery shot?

Probably high resistance due to corrosion, clean the terminal and clamp and see it it repeats.

:iagree: Nothing spells heat like a high resitance short! I melted my pos cable OFF on my plow truck!

Same thing happened to me. Connections where very dirty and the positive connector was loss. Clean them up very good and you should be ready to roll!

Yup, resistance = heat.
Unless the resistance is very high then you get nothing.

There is a really good product that I use, it's called "Johnson's" battery cleaner and then their protector spray is used afterwards.:cheers:
