: Is age detering you from driving your Vette as much?
cloudbuster 08-07-2010, 05:56 AM It seems that it is with me. Now when I have a trip to go on that is longer then a shot to the grocery store I am taking the Sedan and leaving the Vette at home.
Going on the longer trips is not as appealing as it once was and I think that it's because I am to stiff/sore at the end of the trip in the vette and feel good in the sedan.
I am thinking that it may just continue down this road and my Vette will sit more and more in the garage until I finally sell it.:crybaby:
MarxZiesXR 08-07-2010, 07:36 AM Sorry to hear that. Have you thought about getting new seat cushions, they might be worn out and could possibly be the culprit? This might help on longer drives!

RIGE-RNR 08-07-2010, 07:40 AM wow I love driving my vette any where at any time:burnout:
C5CHICK 08-07-2010, 07:40 AM Nope not stopping me. Im trying to hit 300,000 :rockon6rk: I love putting miles on mine I know Ill never sell it so who cares. ANd I love the attention I get in the vette. Not the same as when I pull up to a light in my Hondah.

CorvetteDon 08-07-2010, 08:41 AM Age only makes me appreciate the Vette more than ever! ...:wheelchair:
harleyscrider 08-07-2010, 09:10 AM As other driver suggeusted, try changing the cushions (I changed my bottom only), and the upholster to add alittle more support on bottom because theres mot much room between the frame seat springs and cushions...it help me and seat feels alot better. I'm 52 and know how you feel, I seems to move slow these days myself. One more thing try some stretching moves before you drive. Good Luck !!!
Lightning2Z06 08-07-2010, 09:32 AM just 27 here and my z needed the cushions replaced only 28k miles BUT its almost 10 years old :O Thats helped out a lot for me
fishslayer143@yahoo.com 08-07-2010, 10:11 AM I prefer to drive my C5 on trips, 28mpg, and I find it comfortable..no aches or pains...maybe you ve just lost interest in the car.
Mr. Hyde 08-07-2010, 10:20 AM We do our best to take the Z06 on a long trip each year. This year though, she stays at home because we're going to Yellowstone park, and I've heard some terrible things go on in the park. Horror stories about animals ramming your car and so forth.
Don't want to take any chances, so the Silverado is the vehicle of choice this year.
smithm31 08-07-2010, 10:25 AM I just turned 60. I've had three back surgery's. The only problem I have is getting in and out. I had a triple black 95 convertible that I traded for my 01 because the 95 was almost impossible for me to enter/exit. Its amazing the difference between the C4 and C5. I tend to drive my 01 on longer trips because once I settle in, I'm good to go and don't have to get in and out as much, besides my 01 gets better gas mileage than my wife's Lexus.

I totally agree with MarxZiesXR... The solution may be something as simple as replacing your seat cushions... Stay safe... "Ricovette"

:iagree: just replace Kia Spectra instead of Honda.
smithm31 08-08-2010, 04:48 AM Love the Key West trip. I have driven mine to the Keys several times. The drive from Key Largo into Key West is great. Big problem with parking downtown. Leave your Vette at your hotel and rent one of those scooters to get around town. Go to Captain Tony's and have a cold one for me.
vettex2 08-08-2010, 07:16 AM All I have is vettes , so NO
Blue 92 08-08-2010, 08:05 AM My age or the cars?

Blew02 08-08-2010, 05:48 PM I'm 44 and i get into my Vette by sitting down facing out the door then swing my legs into the car by pushing my weight up by the arm rest and steering wheel, i used to get in by throwing my right leg in then plopping down, that didn't help my two slipped disks.
spike1980 08-09-2010, 04:32 AM I am 51 and have a 2002 coupe, I find it real comfortable to drive.
When I finish a trip in my 1980 I feel beat up, I only keep this one because as a kid it was the car I dreamed of owning.
The ride and performance of the 2002 is outstanding but the 1980 has a place in my heart and the classic insurance on it is easy on the pocket book.

Bucwheat 08-09-2010, 06:49 AM Is there much of a difference in the C-5 and C6 seats?
C5CHICK 08-09-2010, 10:03 AM I found a solution for those who have a hard time with the ins and outs.

craigmenter 08-10-2010, 06:11 AM Maybe a little bit. My lady's Caddy is sure alot more comfy than the Vette.
02rocket 08-10-2010, 10:28 AM 66 here, but my vette easily rolls my clock back every time I drive her, which is anywhere with a safe parking lot. I'll take the Ram to Walmart. I can't even think of ever selling my rocket.
arobber 08-10-2010, 07:55 PM If the sedan is a CST-V then maybe!!!
VetteAholic 08-10-2010, 08:16 PM My current age if anything is preventing me from not trying to drive it all the time! Currently 21, I will usually sit down on the seat then move my feet in. I do remember though the first day I picked up my C4, I drove it back home for I believe close to an hour and 30 minutes. I woke up walking funny the day after. I adjusted the seat to what felt best and now I'm doing arlight.
Dad's toy 08-10-2010, 08:17 PM i'm 67 and it goes where I go (without snow)
yruslow? 08-11-2010, 01:24 PM Hell no!!!!!!!!!!
Strodder 08-11-2010, 06:23 PM I started at 19 with a 59 Vette, and after 10 Vettes, at age of almost 66 is still going strong. They just get better, and better.:beerbang:
bluec5vetteowner 08-13-2010, 12:49 PM A little actually, my shifting leg gets tired faster now!:crybaby:
Strodder 08-13-2010, 05:40 PM You need to shift faster. :burnout:
pace98 08-13-2010, 05:53 PM A little actually, my shifting leg gets tired faster now!:crybaby:
Time for a automatic soon then? :happy0045:
sircharles 08-14-2010, 05:39 AM I think it does for everyone at some point.
PutsVet 09-06-2010, 10:02 PM I feel your pain "Cloudbuster". At 61 I find myself taking the Caddy more often. And that "Corsa" mod can make a short trip seem longer.
Greg
notredame1 09-07-2010, 06:05 AM Kinda sort of I suppose a little.
