Hello, I am trying to find out a way to test the
Bose radio in my 85 C4 the cassette does not
work but i am more concerned with the radio
I bought the car with the power antenna not
mounted, I connected the cable and manually
pulled out the antenna turned on the radio and all
i get is a hissing sound, How can i test the system
to see if the radio works. I would rather not use
the power antenna and go with a manual one.
Thank you!

i know a lot of people have those ipod adaptors for their cars that transmit at set or variable frequency when plugged into an ipod. you could use one of those if you own one. you know the signal being transmitted is very close and you know the exact frequency. the only weak link would be the antenna you are testing.

I pulled out the radio and removed
the radio antenna cable and attached an aftermarket antenna to see if the radio would
work and it did not, Question does the base of the antenna need to be grounded for the antenna to work? Thanks

It shouldn't need to be grounded bro, it should work. I'm stumped.
