I was watching TV last night and there was one of those info commercials about this little white bottle of stuff you put into your cars oil tank and it does something magical  and then it will allow the car to get better gas mileage??? Is this :bs: or is this real? They had people (most likely actors) who claimed to be using it and saving $30 a week at the pump?

I don’t know about all that but I do know for a fact that the oil you use can affect your MPG’s. I use Royal Purple and it gives me an extra 1 MPG in everything I drive. (87 Vette, Silverado 1500, Mini van, and Kawasaki Drifter 1500) Now I don’t know about 30 a week I think I may save 20 with these gas prices. If you really want to save on gas something I never thought I’d say or even do is slow down and when you accelerate do it gradually and use your cruse control once at speed. As a firefighter most cops won’t give me a ticket unless I’m being a real jerk I use to drive about 15-20 over the limit and really was in a hurry to get up to speed. My truck is my usual and I was getting 16 MPG with the mods I made and my normal driving. Now I’m getting 22 MPG by going no more than 5 over and accelerating slowly. It’s a shame gas prices can change my driving habits. LOL
