With my C3 all interior is still original including the radio. I know I need to change my speakers since they are blown. But my biggest question is this; with everything still being original, wood consol, radio, I am affraid of modifying the radio and consol and devalueing the car. What would be your input on this matter?

I want to update the radio without sacraficing the originality of the car. I have seen many classics with updated audio, but haven't seen it with classic vettes. I have also recieved some advice about using a fm modulator to be able to put an Ipod and such.

The FM modulater is a must IMO. With the speakers, man, to keep it original as possible and get good sound can be tricky but many have done it. Ultimately I would get new speakers and keep the original deck in it.

There are plenty of aftermarket speakers that will mount in the factory locations without any modification. This way you can reinstall the original equipment if you ever decide on selling the car.

That's a tough one, but if the car is that close to being original I would not do much at all.

I too would keep it as close to stock as possible if it is already.

You can always hold on to the original so it can be put back in and store it. Sometimes people take them out right away to save them. I've also seen where people run their aftermarket headunit to an alternate location and hide it while keeping the original one in. Just my 2 cents! Good luck!:thumbsup3:
