I want to take my calipers off and powder coat them. They look good painted but I think they should look better being a vette. Now if I do this with the calipers what will I need to do before taking them to a shop for that? Will they put some protection over the intricate (can't be coated parts) and do the prep work? Obviously every shop is different but on the whole what can I expect?

In general I would think you would only need to make sure the brake fluid is drained out of them and they are not greasy dirty. Tell the shop exactly what you want done and show them where you do not want any powder coating. If they are a good shop there should be no problems.

Why do you want to powder coat ? I sprayed mine the same color as the car, looks great !

Thanks for the good info. As to why, a buddy of mine did his and the difference is amazing! So when I get some down time I'm going to redo mine this way!:woowoo:

I had mine painted originally, but I like the powder coat better, and it seems to be more durable.

Yes, most places all you need to do is just send the brakes to them and they take care of the rest.
