Hi there All,
Still I have this problem starting and then after some time it starts again?
I just shorted A and G on the plug and on the dash it throws 74 and 72? Could anyone please help me with this? I cannot find on any list 74 for this model?
1990
I have just checked and there is fuel but no spark!
This seems to me not the VATS because injectors are firing?

Hows the Vette coming along Theo?
Hi,
I think I have found the problem. Because I did not really get any codes it pointed to someting mechanical or something I thought the computer does not see!
The positive wire to distributor had a bad connection at the lug where it pushes on at the distributor. So far it looks good!!!!

It appears your problem is completely distributor related. There is a bad connection in it and it will continue to give you trouble until you find out which connection is bad. The bad connection could be where the HOT wire plugs into the cap or one of the 7 connections at the ignition module. Or it could be a broken wire inside of it's insulation. If so it would probably be one of the rear wires. But it's most likely just a bad connection. Or it could be a bad distributor module. If the distributor module is the original one, it has served it's purpose well for the last 20 years and it wouldn't hurt to replace it based on time/mileage alone. How many miles do you have on your car now? Over 100,000?
