My parents just gave me their old '93 Corvette for birthday gift and I would like to put a different shifter knob on it? How do I remove the old one?

On top of the knob remove the small plastic cover, Under it you will find a snap ring holding the knob on.

Ok I just looked at it and see the plastic cover your talking about, but how do you get that snap ring out? I don't want to force anything and brake anything. Thank you so much! I really appreciate your help.

The best way to remove the snap ring is with snap ring pliers. But if you don't have them i have used the point of a test light. The snap ring has two small holes in it, With the point of the test light in one of the hole, push the ring out and rotate it out of the grove. It may take several tries be patient.

Sounds like you have done this a few times. :) I don't have those pliers, but will try with a pointy object to see what happens. thanks again.
