Hey fellas, I have a scent of coolant in the cabin of my 1993 Vette. I checked the spots in the engine bay for any leakage but didn't find any.
Any thoughts?

Check the pass side carpet under the heater core housing.

Is it too full? Overflow/expansion tank overflowing when it is hot? When mine overflows I can smell it.

Yeah, if you overfill your coolant recovery tank, coolant will get puked out and it'll get on the hot exhaust manifolds. Which will cause you to smell it inside your cabin. The coolant recovery tank is clearly marked COLD and HOT, so be sure to not overfill it when it's cold. Leave plenty of room inside for the coolant to flow into when the engine gets shut off. Also it's helpful to pressurize the system when it's cold so you can see any leaks. You do that by pumping air into the filler neck using one of those inexpensive kits you can buy from any good parts store.

Pressure test the system see if you lose any pressure. Any garage can do it cheap.

Its probably the Heater *****. Sorry to put it that way. But just changed one in my 86 and it probably the most Horrible thing I ever did on this planet in the last 45 years. Simply the most ridiculous GM design. They should change one for a prison sentence.!

Yeah, heater cores are usually pretty hard to get to. As a rule of thumb, NEVER have a heater core repaired. Always replace it with a new one. Check with your auto parts store about which brand is the best quality. A heater core is one of those things in which only the best is good enough. And if you have to replace it, be sure to replace both of the heater hoses with heavy duty hoses.
