The symptoms are indicating a fuel starvation problem. Did you also change the fuel filter when you changed the pump? If not you should. Then you need to verify proper fuel pressure at all speed ranges.

Try changing the fuel filter. If that doesn't cure your problem, check the fuel pressure. Because the fuel filter is mounted under the car, it is often overlooked during normal servicing. My '82's shop manual says to change it every 30,000 miles.

Where exactly is the fuel filter?And where can I find the fuel pump relay as it seemed to fix the other vette that was having problems you replied to.
