Hello,
I am planning on changing out the spark plugs on my 76. Pretty much stock motor except for the edlebrock intake & carb. Have any of you tried the AC Delco rapid fire #2 plugs vs. std R45TS. They are marketing better fuel economy, smoother idle, etc. etc.
For more than double the cost are they worth it?
Thanks!

probably not..by what I ve seen for stock engines, the E3 plugs tested best and even that was minimal gain 2-4 Hp and mileage gain so small it could barely be measured.. Just Use a quality plug ,which ever brand you like..I personally prefer Autolite Platinum, you ll be fine. All these claims of huge gains from these products are just Hype.

I agree with fishslayer, I have a 76 which is the low compression motor, any good quality plug will work, I don't think you will see any difference by switching to a fancy high priced plug, it is only when you are running a high compression or supercharged/turbo motor you might see a slight improvement from reports I have read.

It's just marketing hype. The expensive ones won't perform any better than the standard ones.
