Why doesn't the Corvettes come stock with a CAI? We where discussing this today. With all the cut backs on fuel, greenier planet, etc. If a CAI offers better fuel ecomomy and power wouldn't it make since that these are installed at factory?

If I had to guess I would say its safer for the engine to have a closed air intake to prevent water or large debris from entering the engine or screwing up the maf.

I think that they also understand that most Vette owners are going to change that right off the bat, so there will be a large market for CAI. Big $ is spent on these components and CHevy knows this!

I would agree with you a little. I think GM is just being conservative and can't see them having "kick back" relationships with all the CAI companies?
